For example, the right to education and the right to life. The Human Rights Act was passed in 1998 by the government setting these rights. It is important to respect people’s rights and the government allow people rights depending on their needs. People with dementia have rights as well and as individuals, they tend to be treated badly going against their rights. Rights of the individual must be respecting, even if they cannot care for themselves, the carer must respect their rights and also have their own rights respected. People with dementia have many needs. For example, they may need support with cleaning or remembering to get dressed in a morning.
