Those who think that Congress have too much power do have a point; the Constitution specifically laid out the powers that would be given to the overarching Federal Government. As of today, Congress has far more powers than were originally planned. On the other hand, the Elastic Clause was created for a reason; it allows the Constitution to evolve and adapt to the changing times and changing needs of the people. As time progresses, new technologies and innovations require new laws. Still, even with the necessity of the Elastic Clause, the Federal Government does have much more power than was originally planned, and with so much power vested in such a small group of people, major problems can be created. …show more content…
