Survival. What is survival? Survival is continuing to live or exist under adverse or unusual circumstances. When it comes to survival in the book there are two characters, Peter and Noa. They have to overcome different obstacles in the story in order to survive, and stay safe. Also, in the book,”Don’t turn around”, by Michelle Gagnon is a book that talks about Peter, a character who takes action by browsing through his parents personal information, and finds out that his parents aren’t really what they claim to be. They are criminals who work for Mason. Noa who was kidnapped, finds herself in a warehouse, with an IV in her arm and no memory of how she got there. Lastly, an important thing to remember throughout the story is one needs to be careful who he/she trusts. First of all, Peter is a teenager who has always been a wealthy kid, and a computer genius. Things get out of hand when people break into his house, and take his computer with all his personal information. As a consequence to the breakin, Peter takes action, by ”Posting the same message across more than a dozen boards, accessed by thousands of members of the hacker community” (Gagnon 129). This shows that by sending a message around the world to all his fellow hackers, he is hopeful they will support him in order to destroy his enemy. Another important aspect of the story is an Alliance. From the book it says, Alliance is a group of “Hackers who helped one another whenever they could, and a striked against one was generally taken as an affront to all” (Gagnon 129). This shows that Peter has enough confidence in his hackers to help him destroy his enemy. Lastly, everyone should have someone they can turn to for support, or somebody that they can trust. This is an essential component manifesting itself in all human nature providing security and well being. Another main character in the story who has a lot of support is Noa. Noa is a foster child for almost her entire life, and is sought after by evil villains who want her extra thymus, which can cure PEMA and save million of lives. But, one day something life changing happened to her. A warning message, alerting her to ,“ Get out now, you’re not safe there, and leave now” (Gagnon 91). This shows that somebody out there actually cares about her safety and wants to be her friend, because from the book it says, “Glad you got away” Who is this, said Noa. A friend who used a to be a foster child just like you, said A6mo” (Gagnon 108). This means the person that is helping her, went through almost the same exact …show more content…
The whole purpose of the joining up and becoming parterens was to, investigate and find out what happened to Noe. When Noa and Peter were getting ready to sneak in the warhouse to find out what was going on, that is when trust became a factor. So for example, “Could he really trust Noe to watch his back in there? He wasn’t even sure she liked him”( Gagnon 252). This shows that peter is questioning can he trust Noe while there sneaking in the warehouse, because of how little he now’s Noa. Lastly, it’s important to have trust in order to be successful, but trust takes time to build, which can be hard for
