I can acquire these skills by taking a few specific course at the University of Tampa. PC skills I acquired through the ‘Atomic Learning Program’. As far as system skills go, each company has their own system, but I can become familiar with a few of the basic systems in classes such as Accounting 203. In this class, “Managerial accounting encompasses various systems for calculating the cost of a product or service; tools for the evaluation of business segments; models for making decisions concerning a variety of special decisions; planning and budgeting for operations and capital items; and exposure to ethical norms and dilemmas in the context of accounting and finance. The course includes Excel spreadsheet applications” (“ACC 203 Managerial Accounting,” n.d.). As stated above, this class will give me numerous skills and systems needed in the business world. Accounting in itself is a vital class in the business world, and is needed at the University of Tampa to get a Bachelors in Finance. Business 101 and the lectures associated with the course is the best way to learn how to conduct yourself in a professional setting (“BUS - Business,” n.d.). Speaking a second language is by far the greatest skill and employee can bring to the table. “The global business landscape is changing, though. In the not to distant future, fluency in one or more languages will enhance your professional prospects,” Wheatman, n.d.). Unfortunately, due to countless attempts in high school, learning a second language is not for me. I must utilize other skills instead. One of the main “skills” that I believe that employers are looking for is the fact that I am in a fraternity. What most people do not know is the amount of time and energy and the level of dedication it takes to join a fraternity. I compare it with saying that you are an eagle scout, a captain of a sports team, and the president of a charity club on a high school resume. With this in mind, any employer who had participated in greek life can relate to the amount of dedication and hard work it takes to become a member. It also attributes to your ability to work as a team and be a leader in the office. Although this is one of the only activities that I feel is worth mentioning, in an interview setting I could list numerous other activities and involvements around campus that I have and or plan on participating
