We found that the technology used in Google Glasses was the technology that was closest to what we envisioned for our invention. According to the web article “Would You Want Google Glass in Class?” by Emanuella Grinberg, Google sent a teacher to Switzerland so that he could lead students on a virtual tour of a nuclear research facility and the students watched the teacher through a Google+ hangout as the teacher traveled around while taking questions from students (Grinberg, 2014). In another example from this article, when a student had to miss school, a friend wore the Google Glasses during science lab experiments and broadcast the experiments to the absent student using Google+ hangout. Also in her web article “30 Ways Google Glass Can Innovate the Classroom,” Samantha Murphy listed a number of different ways the glasses can be used, including teachers using facial recognition technology to help identify their students and allowing students who are reluctant to ask questions in class to be able to send questions via SMS to Google Glass (Murphy, 2013). As noted in these examples, student interaction using Google Glasses is basically limited to, chats and webcast-type …show more content…
This can be used by students that are stuck at home. The students that may be stuck at home are parents, working students or handicap students. The technology is not farfetched to become a reality. Coding is the only milestone that we will need to jump through for the robotics and headsets to communicate. The internet is not going away. Distant learning is not going away. An educator will either get on board the training by completing degrees faster with better technology or be left behind. The project was a lot of fun to make. There was a lot of effort and thought put forth in what this group wanted to present. The wheel can be reinvented. If the wheel did not get reinvented than we would still have stagecoach wheels on sport vehicles. Using what is available and coming up with a completely new way of learning is the key. Never fear the future. Be the
