Peter the Great was a czar who had many achievements in strengthening Russia’s nation. He was well noted for the reforms he established, but he also developed a powerful army, made schools with a chasm of religion, and ruled over the church (“Peter the Great Biography”). Some people criticize Peter the Great, claiming that he was harsh and was a character of tyranny.The high taxes he developed led to revolts among the people of Russia. However, even though some of his changes were substandard, the outcome was Russia that Russia improved and that benefited the people.
