“IT certifications fill that gap between what government has failed to regulate and what should be expected of modern day IT professionals.” This is a statement from an article on www.technibble.com called “5 Reasons Why IT Certificates Still Matter” Certifications show your employer that you have gone above and beyond your average degree. You are willing to learn and become an expert in a certain area which is what most companies are looking for. Also with the tech industry always changing and new threats always presenting itself it is important to continue your education. Many jobs ask for a specific programming language, certain platform experience or certifications. If you know what area you want to go into then you can decide which area to begin mastering. Not all IT jobs require an additional certification although for the one 's that do you need to be aware and plan accordingly. Jobs like IT Project Manager requires an Industry certification in Six Sigma, PMP, MCTS, MCITP, Network+ , Security+ and CCNA. If you want to become an Information Security Architect you will need a certification in core discipline(s), architectural approach, ISC2, SANS/GIAC, ISACA). Wikipedia says that the top IT tech companies based on revenue are the following: Apple, Samsung, Foxconn, Amazon, HP, Microsoft, IBM, Alphabet, Sony, and Panasonic coming in at number 10. Many of these seem pretty obvious as most of us own something made form one of these companies or use it for online shopping. Although some of these companies I have not heard of, Foxconn manufactures computer parts such as motherboards, power supplies,chassis and many more.
