When it comes to English Language Learners, the lack of efficient fluency can greatly cause an interruption in communication. In every conversation, it is important to be able to speak with ease because the flow of a sentence can greatly change the aura of communication. Reason being, by not being able to speak English comfortably, the lack of practice to fluently speak English can come across as untrustworthy. In the quote “Newton is a town in Mississippi, and I want to, to, I want to what?”, ELL student Tania encounters trouble with her fluency and not being able to flow through her sentences without pausing and thinking of what to say next. By rehearsing adequate cognitive fluency, a speaker can obtain the ability to immensely increase their credibility and reliability just by boosting the confidence in their speech.
