A struggle that occurs early on is at a restaurant named “Stone’s” after a game. Getting over this obstacle gets Jake and Casey one step closer to a better relationship. During the time Jake and his friends were at the restaurant Casey came up to Jake and trash talked him. Jake and Casey have finally gotten through the struggles that have plagued this relationship, but without them they would not have this friendship. In Qb1 Jake finally realizes that he should help Casey out. Jake invites Casey over to help him with his throwing motion that has been lost in a way.”And you think you can help me Casey asks after he walks over towards Jake” (Lupica 219). It wasn’t just Jake that was going to help out, it was his dad who was an NFL quarterback. Casey realizes that Jake has tried to make this friendship better, but he’s been trying to make things worse. After Casey is done with working with Jake’s dad him and Jake work on a play that will later win the State title for them. The struggles had finally stopped and both of them knew it.
