The Importance Of Daunting In Professional Sports

Leading up to the Denver Broncos third Super Bowl win to take the fiftieth ever nation football championship. You must know that ever since the establishment of the Broncos football organization my dad’s side of the family was involved. And, I don’t mean involved as in, “hey we watch the games.”. I’m meaning involved as in my great grandparents donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the developing team. I’ve personally been to the Mile High Stadium at Sports Authority, in Denver, at least 15 times. I’ve been in the press box, I’ve been in the locker room, I’ve been everywhere that stadium has to offer. I would have to agree with the fact that my family lived all across Colorado, from Kremling to Colorado Springs, and being that they lived there, is why they fell in love with the Denver Broncos. My mom on the other hand loved any team that had Peyton Manning, coincidentally, Manning signed with the Denver Broncos on her birthday, March 20, 2012. My dad grew up a Broncos fan, for he obviously lived in Colorado. Naturally, I being his son wanted to like anything and everything my father did. That’s where I come into the story of loving the Denver Broncos. My father and I, established a deep connection with the Broncos. He watched the very first two Super Bowls the Broncos had won. I was intrigued that he got the witness any amazing accomplishment. We constantly wanted the Broncos to win everything. As would anyone who had a favorite team. We would sit and rant about the horrible quarterbacks who were terrible at their job and were overpaid. We sat through was seemed like relentless torture of the Broncos negative seasons. Then the time came when Peyton Manning signed with the old donkeys (which is just a nickname people give the Broncos). Peyton’s first year with the Broncos, he led them to the most disgusting Super Bowl loss in almost history. The unmentionable team from Seattle beat the Broncos 48 to 8. Embarrassing. But, in all horrifying tales, there is most the time a fairy …show more content…
Peyton played a good couple games and then had an injury. Many people including myself thought the playoff dreams were over. But, along came the backup quarterback, Brock Osweiler. I didn’t think much of him. Boy did he prove me wrong. Brock’s first game was against none other than the New England Patriots themselves. Daunting. Daunting should be and backup quarterbacks feelings when it’s your very first game and you’re going against not only your rival, but the previous Super Bowl champions. I was scared for him. Brock showed up to play. Defeating the Patriots, 30 to 24. Playoff dreams became hopeful again. Those dreams became reality. The Broncos were rewarded with a first round bye because they achieved first seed overall in the AFL conference. The second round , Peyton Manning was back, and the Broncos blew passed the Pittsburgh Steelers, 23 to 16. Then the Conference round, win and go to the Super Bowl. Lose, and go home. The Denver Broncos opponents. The New England Patriots. Sorta like deja vu? Whoever said the famous quote of, “defense wins games.” Is the smartest to have ever spoken. The Broncos led by the relentless force of defensive end, Von

Wentz finished the game completing 12-of-24 passes for 89 yards and an interception. He showed that under pressure he has the taste to throw the ball high but will withstand the big hits. It was great to see that he was comfortable throwing the ball outside the pocket and showed at least a decent amount of accuracy on his throws. He will have to adjust to NFL speed and the defense that isn't as yielding as the FCS.…

With a big game like the one he played in, it is easy to get off track. This is what divides the men from the boys so to say. But as pete states “Less than two seasons into his college career, Watson has pushed Clemson from a fringe title contender best known for unexpectedly losing big games to lesser teams to a legitimate title threat. Watson came in with five-star billing but lacked any of the Johnny or Jameis drama associated with top quarterbacks over the past few years” (Thamel). When you bring a school that is like that to a more relatable school you have to play and win in some pretty big games.…
