The lessons that this movie teaches us are real life problems. From the benefits of community policing to the terrible down side of what happens when the police start to profile and create an enemy of its own citizens. Community policing was very much seen in the upper class communities across Canada. It is time for this method to be applied in OUR community right here in Toronto. We’ve seen the lows that zero-tolerance policing can bring us to. We’ve seen what racial profiling can do to a community in which our black people are being over represented in our institutions. It’s time for change, it’s time for our police to work with our citizens not work against them. As this is not a 2 sided battle, it is a reoccurring problem that will only be solved with co-operation on both sides. Will it be tough for police to change their ways?
