Members of the area, such as Phyllis Pomrening, are concerned about the amount of water drawn from the area river to be utilized in the snow making machines as well as the change in the land. “We’ve had lots of the most beautiful trees, the maples are all gone, most of them, of course they’ve got all those runs up there and it’s just kind of sad to see that” (Dohr, 2014). In Pope Francis address to Congress he stated, “We must resolve now to live as nobly and justly as possible, as we educate new generations not to turn their backs on our “neighbors” and everything around us.
