The Hunger Games is basically the definition of dystopia. The Hunger Games exemplify dystopian concept in different ways. In the hunger games there is a big gap between the rich and the poor, there is separation and isolation of districts, unfair government system, and public surveillance.
There is a huge difference in their life styles. The riches live a luxury life while the poor lives in remote areas where there are no food or any other resources. The poor are isolated in different districts. The poor are not treated as human beings. The riches has the right to do what ever they want but the poor people suffer from lack of resources. They don’t have the freedom to speak their mind and live their lives the way they chose to. The government (riches) controls the poor peoples’ life. The straggles and death of the poor, entertains the rich people. The game only involves the poor, the rich doesn’t play the game. The riches get to watch while the poor dies. The only thing the riches have to do is bet on the game and pick which contestant they like and support the contestant by sending food and supplies. To get those supports the contestant has to be very competitive and aggressive because that's the only way to get the peoples’ attentions. Every steps of the contestants are monitored by the people and there are surveillance cameras everywhere. There is no hiding from the cameras if you try go against the system then they will find a way to kill you (poison).
Dystopia is the perfect word to describe The Hunger Games because everything about it is imperfect and ridiculously unfair for the poor. Treating people as an animals and murdering them for entertainment purposes is wrong and
