On a scale from 1 to 5, I give The House of Hades a rating of 4. There were many interesting parts and there were some parts that I tried not to fall asleep on. Some of the interesting parts were when Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase were in Tartarus fighting monsters, slowly dying. They are met with past enemies and make unforeseen alliances. In the Prophecy of Seven, one of the lines say, “And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death”. Their foes in the story are Bob the Titan, AKA Iapetus, and Damasen the giant. They come together in the middle of the story and defeat Tartarus as they make their way to the Doors of Death. The other demigods also face some incredible adventures. Hazel Levesque learns how to use the Mist (magic); Piper McClean fights Khione and the Boreas by herself; Leo Valdez meets Calypso and falls in love; Nico di Angelo confronts his crush towards Percy in front of Cupid and Jason; Jason Grace controls venti, wind spirits; Frank receives a blessing from his father, Mars, god of war, and is …show more content…
Tartarus is the Greek word for “Devil’s Lair”. It is so hot that Percy and Annabeth get blisters as soon as they make impact with shore after falling into a river. The River of Fire can heal mortals, in a burn your organs kind of way. The river healed Percy and Annabeth from their bruises and broken bones as they made their way through Tartarus. You can hear the wails of the dead as you walk through the Underworld. Hear their chatters of persuasion to make you stay, only to leave you to die with the dead. Look at the Titans and giants as they look for fights. Smell the stench of monsters, demons, smoke from the bubbling bumps as they explode. Taste the ashes from the dead as they arise in “The House of Hades”. Try not to fall short as you are pushing further and further into the darkest parts of
