Cowperthwaite and the rest of her crew that produced the documentary “Blackfish” are either documenters or cinematographers; however none of them have expertise in the field of marine life ("Blackfish Official Film Site"). There are facts to be told about Sea World that are conveniently left out of the documentary. Sea World has a strong history is American with its roots tracing back to Florida in 1959, with the opening of Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Since then, Sea World has expanded its gates around the United States with 11 different parks. Traditional Sea World theme parks are located in San Diego, California, Orlando, Florida and San Antonio, Texas ("Sea World History" para 1- 4 ). “Blackfish” told the story of Sea World’s most aggressive and sad orca, Tilikum. Before moving to Sea World, he shared a very small tank with two other large orcas, that’s was incredibly too small for them, at a public aquarium called Sea Land that opened in 1969. Tilikum has been involved in three murders since he was captured as an infant and he has grown to be one of the largest male orcas in captivity ("Blackfish Official Film Site”). “Blackfish” claims he is used to scare other orcas into behaving, and is also one of the top orca’s used in Sea World’s breeding program (Welsh para 3). But “Blackfish” isn’t blaming Tilikum for the murders; they imply the fault of Sea World’s mistreatment of
