Today, in Modern day, we would look at their conflict being ludicrous. Humans today usually fight for rights, convince, or self defense. Not getting too political, an example of convince would be our men and women fighting across the sea. Many people say our troops are there fighting for the gas. Is this claim actually true? In the Iliad Hector’s wife, Andromache, morns when he isn’t present. Tears shed down her eyes begging Hector not to go to war with the Greeks. She explained how she had no one but him. Andromache’s father was killed by Achilles, and her family died Achilles destroyed her hometown. Her fear grew knowing Hector would have to go to war and feared of what would become of him. Questions would go through her head like, if she would ever see him again. She wanted her son to grow up with a father and for her to have a husband by her side. Andromache represents the wives of the solider who fight for counties each day. The anxiety and worry of receiving a phone call informing them that their husband is injured or being visited by the army with a flag in their hand. We appreciate what the men and women do for our country but we never go through the pain as their loved ones go
