In many cases one can observe how Lowry thoroughly explores the theme of love in her text “The Giver”. Lowry’s text is based in a world where love doesn’t exist, “[love] [is] so meaningless that’s almost become obsolete” in this case Lowry uses the word “obsolete” to emphasise that love is an emotion that is no longer produced or expressed.
