In The Giraffe, Ronaldino is determined and does not give up on his goal, which gave me motivation for my everyday life. “there wasn’t a house or a stall high enough for it and we didn’t know what to do […] Ronaldino had an idea and said, ‘it’d fit in the church’” (Senesi paragraph 21). Although Ronaldino and his companions were having difficulty finding a place for the giraffe to stay, they did not loose motivation and did everything they could. In the story, the townspeople told Ronaldino that he should just give up, similarly, people tell me to give up dancing because there is no future in it, because dancing will never get me anywhere. People tell me that I will never be good enough at dancing, but it a hobby I will never give up. In the short story, the townspeople were not used to the animal, as he was not native to the area but the boys stepped out of the crowd and willingly helped the giraffe. “He’s cold, he’s used to the sun of Africa” (Senesi paragraph 18). The boys had a life in their hands and had to find a way to take care of it. Similarly, when my sister was born I had to take care of her and did not know what to do. I had to learn how to share to share my toys and as she grew I had to understand what she was comfortable with and help her. The challenges in life can help gain a better understanding of ourselves and our lifestyle. The Giraffe written by Mauro Senesi encourages me, shows me to remain confident and has taught me to step out of my comfort zone in my everyday
