For example, when Jason talks about him maybe playing in sectionals and postseason, he states, “Me, I’d just had a good game. So I went back to work the next day as the team manager” (194). Jason already had his chance and he does not want to take time away from the other players so the next day he goes back to being the manager. Many players would continue to talk about the game and brag, but not Jason he accepts and appreciates his role as manager of the team. When Jason talks about winning his own ESPY, he states, “Winning an ESPY wasn’t as cool as winning the sectionals, Jason allowed after the moment had sunk in, but it was pretty cool” (227). Jason cherishes winning sectionals with his team over being on national television accepting an ESPY, not many other kids would probably say that. In that moment, Jason stays loyal to his team and does not care about anything other than winning sectionals, which shows he is humble. Through reading the autobiography, one can see that Jason stays modest in the biggest moments and smallest moments no matter what.
