Now that the Orion spacecraft has been tested and was successful, NASA can start planning to discover other planets. They are also planning on discovering and learning more about other planets and galaxies. In order to start exploring distant planets, we must first go back to the beginning of space exploration. Moon missions are essential to the exploration of distant worlds. These moon missions may also be used as a base of operations where humans will learn how to replenish essential supplies. “NASA has an exciting new vision of future space flight - the return of humans to the moon by 2020 in preparation for visits to Mars and possibly beyond.” (Schlager,NP) Those skills are essential to the future expansion of human presence into deeper space. The Constellation project also has objectives. Although humans have visited the moon before, it still harbors mysteries including the investigation of water ice near it’s poles. Future missions are also being planned to observe the Sun, venus, and even Jupiter. “While the golden age of large scale space exploration has ended, the golden age of data return may be yet to come.”(Schlager, NP) There will be other mission in the future that will try to locate extra-solar planetary systems that resemble our solar system. Future missions should be able to detect any earth-like planets in what are termed Goldilocks orbit. The discovery of even the most simple life forms elsewhere in the …show more content…
We have been to places no one had ever dreamed of going and discovered many new things about our galaxy. Man has been on the surface of the moon and we have artifacts and more data on the moon. We have also discovered millions of other galaxies than anyone thought existed. A rover was sent to Mars and a spacecraft made for humans was sent out of lower-earth orbit. NASA has made big discoveries in the past that will be beneficial to us in the future. As the nation along with its partners returns to the moon, ventures to Mars and points between and beyond, human spaceflight will succeed as it always
