The Forbidden One: A Fictional Narrative

“Shame it is, right Carl?” Steve moaned. He couldn’t believe himself. A blood curdling scream had filled the empty, black room, and he knew exactly who had made it. It was like he just turned to stone. None of his muscles decided to work. Somehow he didn’t feel any drips on his cold cheeks. He knew Hart’s fate before his deciding, why was he only mourning his death now? “Yeah…” His thought trailed off to the sky, and he noticed how much more smoggy it became.
“At least we’re fine though. Hey, check this out!” Steve just found a copy of “The Daily Words,” their city newspaper.
“Whaddya know, another 10% tax raise! Gotta pay that debt, Mr. President!” Steve cheered gleefully. It was like he completely forgot about Hart, and Carl, too.
“Come on, what’s with the long face? I’m sure you’ll be fine,” Steve responded to Carl’s frown. Carl began to realize how ignorant these people are. As he looked at the paper, he began to understand why “The Forbidden One” had destroyed this place long ago.
“COULD WE PLEASE HAVE CARL FARELY COME UP TO GET HIS PRINTS, PLEASE COULD WE HAVE CARL FARELY UP TO GET HIS PRINTS.” The robotic loudspeaker brought Carl back to his senses.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be alright.” Steve reassured him, after seeing his pale face. “Anybody like you would be fine, trust me.” His voice sounded so ignorant that Carl felt like slapping him. No, he felt like breaking everybody’s nose, and laughing at them as if they were little children. They were all so ignorant. He kept his wits, though. He knew what was right and what wasn’t. He staggered between the two front pillars of the huge building, thinking how idiotic he was during his past 30 years of living. This place was awful. Nobody had the right to go anywhere without being watched. All their actions were recorded, and the citizens were selected for a trial to see if they lived or not. And he couldn’t do anything about it. All the while he thought about this, he got his prints. He dared even think about his fate, but he already knew it. He stared death straight in the eye. Then they shouted it in their dehumanized voices. “GUILTY.” And soon they were upon him. A few seconds later, a huge bang echoed throughout the halls. A ringing in his ears distracted him from the searing pain, until he realized that he wasn’t dead, and he soon didn’t remember that he was injured. His eyes squinted, and he tried to see through the smoke. His shoes were stained with blood. He stared through the gaping hole in his shirt and realized the crimson was his own blood. Under his shirt, something was happening. A soft “clunk” was heard over all the screaming and yelling. A bullet fell out of his torso? Carl tore off the buttons on his flannel just to discover a bullet shot, but it had healed. The stench of blood no longer struck his senses, and there was no visible redness over his skin, besides the blood that dripped from his clothes. His eyes filled with amazement. He was even more awestruck after he realized what was really going on. He just survived a gunshot, and an explosion. Soon, the constant ringing was gone. He then knew he was the “Forbidden One,” as legend told from long ago. In the year 20XX past, a ginormous government had taken over everywhere with their advanced military weapons and conquest.

As I stared across the bullet-torn battlefield I wondered how I ended up here; hiding behind a crumbling wall, clutching my gun as though it were a lifeline. How the young kid I'd once been now bore a dirty, camouflage patterned uniform. There I was, contemplating my life in the middle of a battle. I shouldn't have been surprised when a hand suddenly shot out in front of my face and smacked me upside the head. It was so unexpected that I nearly stumbled out from behind the rubble and right into the bullet whizzing by.…

The autumn breeze was cool against his skin as Steve walked through the numerous gravestones at Arlington. The grave stones were a light grey that looked less grim in the bright sunshine than they would have had it been a grey and dreary day. That was good though, because Steve had been aiming for a day that was bright and as cloudless as possible. The day didn’t have to be gloomy just because he was here to visit the graves of several of his old friends. Old friends that had passed on and left him behind while he lay frozen.…

It all started with the final spark of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Due to this, and Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism, all of the world was soon pit against each other in the bloody, and hopeless battlefields of Central Europe. The war took place from July 28, 1914 to November 1, 1918 on the Eastern, and Western Front..…

People show judgement when they don’t agree with one's passion. “I would not be alone with him for the world. I wonder he is not afraid to be alone with himself.” This is a moment in life when someone is judging something before they even know what is happening, like they don’t know how to take it so they are just going to assume it is wrong. In the afternoon at the funeral of the young lady when Mr. Hooper appeared still covered in the black veil, it was now an appropriate emblem.”…

The story of Animal Farm is not just one of talking animals living on a farm. Rather, the tale chronicles the historical event of the Russian Revolution and the figures that took part in establishing the totalitarian regime in Russia, as well as the people that were affected by the ascendance of a corrupt leader. George Orwell, in Animal Farm, creates the villain character of Napoleon, a Berkshire pig, and the main antagonist in the novel, who rose to power through acts of exploitation, fear tactics, and manipulation to demonstrate the corruption of Joseph Stalin 's dictatorship. Throughout the story, corruption arose in the farm as Napoleon gained power and began to grant himself privileges.…
