The Importance Of Good Food

Decent Essays
Everyone knows that good food is a basic need of human body. People think we eat any food to stay alive. Yes, we eat to stay alive, but there’s much more to it than that. The problem is that we particular seem to have lost track of what good food is. We now no longer can judge for ourselves what is safe to eat and what is not, what is good for our bodies and what is not, where to eat, how many times a day to eat, how long a meal should last, or whether or not it is important to eat with other people. I learned that many people I know don’t take the time physically and mentally to know about the food.
I like the idea spend more, eat less that Michael Pollan mentioned in his article. I agree with him hundred percent. Americans are as addicted to cheap food. Spend more money on good food than eating more and unhealthy. You rather eat less healthy food rather than more food but unhealthy. People need to take their time to find out what they eat and spend more money for organic products at the farmer’s market. All this cheep food

This was an article that explains how homemade food is healthier than fast food. I don’t know why I like eating somewhere outside rather than at home. I guess that I have doing the wrong choices for long time. But the huge problem is that I don’t have the time to wait at home for my mom to cook or to prepare it. Now days, people leave to work or to school in the morning and might come back at night. There is no time to come home to eat. Imagine people forget to eat because they have many things to do. I agree that eating at home can save our lives, but I liked to mention some problems that prevent us from eating at home. After reading the article, it has become clear that cooking is a healthy behavior. I was surprised that children who have regular meals with their parents do better in school and have healthier relationships. Also, eating with family or other people can increase the mental health

Controlling your portions, yourself, and your wallet truly are effective steps towards building a healthy lifestyle of your choice. What is neat about this food philosophy is that you work to reach your goal at your own paste, at your own time, and for your own reasons. Michael Pollen, Mary Maxfield, and many others will continue to share what they believe is effective, but what suits one person is not the same for somebody else. Consequently, each person needs to initiate a starting point, experiment, and figure out what works for them. This is why this essay’s philosophy is very vague and flexible.…

The consumption of food is necessary in order to obtain the fuel and nutrients that our bodies need to stay healthy and productive. According to Warren Belasco in “Why Study Food” from Food: The Key Concepts, food is “our most frequently indulged pleasure, the core of our most intimate social relationships” (Why Study Food Belasco, 1). Food has a way of not only bringing people together, but also providing people with comfort. There are immense positive outcomes that occur from the consumption of food and this can lead consumers to question, “Why study food?.” Oftentimes, consumers have little knowledge on not only how their food gets from the farm to their dining table, but also what is in the food they are consuming.…

Eating Responsibly Instead of Recklessly The most pressing issue facing American health today lies in the increasing number of obese people. When analyzing the two texts Don’t Blame the Eater and Against Meat, both authors messages combine to form the idea that food is much more than the enemy and we must take responsibility for our own eating failures. The messages presented both convey how our parents influence our food choices, the lack of good and bad food, our own “conscientious inconsistency” with eating, and are presented in distinctive ways. Against Meat identifies how we are in control of our choices and we should be more aware of what we are eating.…
