Teens would have to make sure they put aside enough money for gas, car payments, and more. This will teach teens to be smart with their money so that they can actually have a car. In an article, a Connecticut highway safety evaluator named David Preusser states that “maturity helps to lower your crash rate” (Massachusetts Considers Raising the Driving Age), so if you’re a teen that is mature, can afford to be a licensed driver, and can prove your knowledge and expertise through testing, you should be granted your license at age fifteen. Even though parents may be worried and concerned about their teens’ driving, all of the additional practice that would take place could ease their minds.
The next reason that the driving age should be lowered is because it can earn the government more money through taxes.
