Among the people who reported Bundy as a potential suspect was his girlfriend. Although she did give his name as a suspect it was lost in all the other leads investigators were looking into. Bundy then moved on to Salt Lake City, Utah where he attended the University of Utah College of Law. During his first semester he killed four more women, one of which was the daughter of a police chief. In his second semester he killed four more women. One of which was a 13-year old. He also killed another during his summer break, 15-year old Susan Curtis. A week later her approached Carol DaRonch pretending to be a detective telling her that her car had broken into and asked her to follow him to the precinct to see the suspect. Once in the car he handcuffed her. Putting up a great struggle DaRonch was able to escape and stop a car on the road. The evidence that convicted Bundy are items that were found in his car each time he was arrested. Which consisted of gloves, handcuffs, flashlight, ski mask, crowbar hair samples, blood samples, a box of large plastic garbage bags, ice pick, and his teeth impression he left on the buttocks of Lisa Levy. The handcuffs were believed to be used to kidnap his victims. Forensics were also able to extract blood from the coat of one of his victims. The most concrete evidence that was able to convict Bundy was the teeth impressions he had left on his victim. Forensic Odontology was able to determine the bite mark was indeed from Bundy. Forensic Odontology is the study of teeth and tooth marks, often used in criminal cases. Bundy’s second trial took place on June 25, 1979 in Miami, Florida in regards of the attacks and murders of the sorority students. The jury returned a verdict of guilty on July 30,1979 sentencing Bundy to death twice for the murders by means of the electric chair. On his third trial related to the murder of Kimberly Leach on January 7,1980 Bundy pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The jury again returned with a guilty verdict with another sentence of death by electrocution. He was put to death on January 24, 1989 in Starke State Prison in Florida.
