The Boston Massacre was known as the killing of the the British. It was a riot on March 5, 1770 in which British Army soldiers shot and killed several people while under attack by a mob. British troops in the Massachusetts Bay Colony were there to stop bad works against the Townshend Acts and keep order. Instead they caused outrage. The British army was attacked by a mob and many British soldiers died. The British empire was very angry after this incident and did try and find the leader of the mob. On the day the British was attacked dozens of troops went out to go and fight the invaded. There were numerous clashes between people in the mob. The violent incident became an outrageous point for American patriots led by Samuel Adams. Five colonists were killed and Crispus Attucks body was laid out at Faneuil Pronounced fan-yule a Hall in Boston. Patriot leaders organized a funeral procession for the five who were killed. The mob was lead by a patriot and also inspired by Paul Revere. Paul Revere put many threats against the British Crown. The American colonies and the British government were at a point were they had to fight for what they wanted. They ended up fighting in a war called the American Revolution. The American Revolution was a colonial revolt that took place between 1765 and 1783. The patriots brought small groups of colonists to go and fight in the war against the British and they brought patriots all over the U.S and leaders like George Washington. George Washington brought his army with the patriots to go and fight in the war he also had help from the French army and other powers to go and take down the British army. The American Revolution was a war that was a big thing. When the fight between the Loyalists and Patriots happened. Patriots and Loyalists did fight in the American Revolution for what they think. It was estimated during the American Revolution that one third were Patriots, one third Loyalists, and one third neutral. The people that were neutral picked sides in the American Revolution and did abandon one of the sides. During this war there were 20,000 Loyalists who went to go fight for the British Crown. Patriots went to go fight for freedom of other people and take down the British government and the Loyalists. Loyalists fought for the British Crown and for colonists to continue working for them. The leader of the British was General William Howe who ended up dying at the war. After the American Revolution
