There are many reasons why a college education is valuable. Ultimately, whether one uses their college education to improve one's knowledge base, create better job opportunities, or to build wealth, it has been proven that those individuals positively influence our society's future successes. There are those who believe that taking on the burden of student debt to obtain a college education leads to an overall burden on society. However, statistic shows that those with a college education compared to non-degree holders earn $22,000 a year more in salary, thus enabling them to pay off her student loans. While it is true, that many college graduates are employed and jobs do not require a college degree the fact they do have a degree makes them more competitive overall. Everyone has their own reason for attending college in obtaining a four-year degree. Now, going to college and getting a degree does not necessarily guarantee that the individual is going to get a job in that exact field. College definitely has its pros and cons. But I think that college is what you make of it. It can be the best time of your life, but only if you want it to. You can take the pessimistic view about it and think that college is a waste of money, or it can be looked at as a challenging and exciting new frontier that basically will set the precedent for the rest of your life.
