The Best Friends: Three Different Types Of Friends

Improved Essays
Three years ago, I went through a deep depression. I was emotional wreck because I lost my father. He did not die or anything but he was gone, he abandoned us. My mother was happy, but I was in pieces. My best friend Joanna helped me overcome my depression. Without her I would still be in profound sadness. She really did not do much but her presence was all I needed. When I was in tears, she made laugh. One time she came in the room and just hugged me. I needed that hug. It brought so much comfort to me because I knew I would always have someone by my side. That day I realized that in this world they are three different types of friends: the best friends, the friends and the occasional friends. The best friends are the friends that stick with …show more content…
These people come in all shapes and sizes. They are basically family, and everything you hide about yourself, they know. My best friend is Joanna. I have never meet anyone so sincere and yet so ruthless towards people and life. She does not care about anyone but herself. However I know Joanna and under that dark cover was a soft heart. I did not know exactly how we became best friends but I am glad it happened. She was always there since the first day I met her. When we would go out to eat, she would pay. She never asked for anything in return. The day I figured out we were best friends was the day she poured her heart out to me because I gave her emotional support that I could only offer. Friends are everywhere and you have a lot of them. These are the types of people you see every day and talk to. However they are different from best friends. They are just people you socialize with but not really connect with in other levels. They are friendly and will always say hello. You trust them to a certain extent and can eventually become best friends. They’ll show support but not really emotionally. They only know what you need them to know. Conversations with them are pretty neutral and are not really genuine. They can be reliable but not with …show more content…
It does not seem bad or anything they are just questions, but they were questions to ask information. She would ask “Hey do you have the answers to the homework?” If not that she would ask “Do you know who is having the party this weekend?” I would get irritated because that is not how to start a conversation. I thought it was rude, why not ask me how I am doing and then get to your point. Not only that she would never talk to me afterwards or not even a hello. Sometimes I would be hesitant to respond and then I would remember that I am respectful. That is why I now try to avoid these types of people. They are selfish and rude. Overall we have all encountered all these types of people. Whether or not you think the same about each type of friend, you know some that have some of the attributes. The best friend will always be close to your heart. The friend will always give you a good laugh and the answers to the next quiz. The occasional friend, well will always be transparent until they need something. Life is full of great wonders and surprises. We should enjoy life with everyone and anyone. No matter if they are your best friend, friend or the occasional friend enjoy the time you have on this planet. We should enjoy everyone,

One day we were talking at lunch and a girl came up to us and started talking to us about herself and how discourteous her friends were to her, of course we told her that she could hang out with us. All three of us had the same class and became best friends quickly, after that I made some friends and I had the best school year of my life. The 6th grader that sat next to me was Destiny who, after 6th grade, went to Somerset but to this day we are still best friends. I started that school year terrified, sad, and angry with my mom for making me move away from my friends, I’m fortuitous that I move or I wouldn't have met my two best friends that I consider family.…

When your car breaks down and you are stuck in the middle of the highway and your friend is willing to drive all the way to pick you up and call AAA for you, that’s true friendship. I have had some situations when a friend will always be there for me whenever I need them. I had an awful experience a few months ago; one night my friend did henna for my arms and it felt itchy all night and looked ominous.
