The College/ Universities increased their loan program than increase their financial aids (peal grants) program. In order to students pay their tuition, they try to focus on courses that related to America’s economy and they have more chance to find the job in their area of study to pay their loan. We as human should be consider about the Liberal Arts such as humanities and what caused that to not being elected course as it was before in Colleges and Universities. Since 1965, College’s tuition has been increased and caused the basic degrees such as business, engineering become more valuable in America’s economy. Magdalena Kay states in her article, “ A New Course,” that “ As a student wonders which course is worth her money and which is not, administrators will eye her choice and tell themselves that certain subjects are more lucrative than others” (Kay 40). This is related to many changes about the higher education since forty years ago in United State. This includes cutting the college’s budgets and increasing loan at profit and nonprofit schools. Meanwhile, this has forced most students to being consider about taking courses that give more opportunity to find job after complete their schooling than taking humanities courses that is not going guarantee them in future. Humanities or Art& Science’s students will be successful in their career after finishing their school? Answer is Art and Science students. Most undergraduate students worry about their future after being graduate from four years Universities. Kay mention to Christopher Lasch’s idea, “ Plenty of students are seeking quality education, plenty genuinely want to learn certain skills, and plenty are quite willing to be interested in the subjects they’re taking” (Kay 39). In addition, from this quote can say,elimination of Liberal Arts come from changes in America’s economy and increasing colleges tuitions and fees. Most students before getting graduate worries about how to pay off their debt and this force them to think about coerces that might help them to get job easier than other field. student who take liberal arts degree for example psychology or just general biology is hard to find job than the computer science .Therefore, economy runs through the non-liberal arts such as engineering, medical, and business. In this century, students worries how to go to school, how to pay their college fees, and what course must be taking to be success in their future. All these give them street for being at school and finishing their degrees. Declining liberal arts come from changes in school’s tuitions and change in America;s economy. In addition, economy does not accept liberal arts as main career at this time. I as a student have street about my future, and making sure to get my degree in Medical field because later on I will be able to pay off my debt.
