On September 2, 1945 , World War II was over. Jew’s finally came out of hiding, and was able to live their daily lives, without the fear of Hitler’s Anti- Jewish laws. But now, as the year 1947 rolls by, a dad was able to fulfil his little girl’s wish. That dad was Otto Frank. The Frank family was a Jewish family and was forced to live in hiding till the war was over. Otto’s youngest daughter, Anne, wrote a diary, and Otto published it making her wish come true, which was her being an author. However, not everyone in the Frank family was able to see the war end and was able to see Anne’s diary published. Only Otto survived the war.

And immediately we knew we were going to leave the house.” Otto chose to hide in the Annexe in his company’s building. Which was later on called the “Secret Annexe” The Annexe was well hidden, so it wasn’t an obvious hiding place. The entrance was blocked by a bookshelf, so people will have to figure out that the bookshelf was the way into the Annexe.
Life of living in such tiny place with 7 other people wasn’t easy for Otto Frank.
“Anne and Mr.Dussel always gets into the most tedious arguments. I mean, living so close to each other, in such a tiny place, makes it really easy to get into other people's neves. You know?”
Everyone who lived in the Annexe had to be quiet at all times so no one would hear them. They were not to go outside, and most definitely not able to open the curtains for sunlight. Bathing, was even a hardship for them. Otto Frank shared a poem, that his oldest daughter, Margot, wrote for his birthday. Otto thought it was exactly how they felt when they were in hiding.
