Guadalupe County Report Guadalupe County is the county that is the subject of my report. Texas gained independence from Mexico in 1836 then Texas was annexed by the United States in 1845. The Republic of Texas organized Guadalupe County as a judicial county in 1842, but discontinued it later that year when the Texas Supreme Court declared judicial counties to be unconstitutional. In March 1846 after the annexation, the legislature established Guadalupe County from parts of other counties.…
Although, one may disagree with Ivins claim on how the stereotypes represent all Texans, she does seek to highlight specific issues dealing with cultural aspects, racism, and political issues in Texas. No one ever questions the State they live in. Until one begins to tune in on what is really going on. Ivins in this case is the one that everyone is tuning in on. She states that Texas, is Texas because its “ignorant, cantankerous and ridiculously friendly” (341).…

The growing pains in Texas during the late 19th and early 20th centuries due to expansion and modernization affect everyone. The swift changes caused people to face economic, social, political, and demographic issues differently and some faced with more difficult issues than others were. The demographics of the state experience great change because many were created in the cities.…
Second, Orange County’s population growth has recently slowed down after steady growth from 1950 to 2000. Before 2000, a combination of natural increase (births minus deaths), domestic migration, and international migration fueled growth. Since 2000, Orange County has experienced negative domestic migration – in every year but one from 2002 to the present – and slower population growth driven by natural increase and international migration. The county’s high cost of living and lack of affordable workforce housing, which encourage county workers to relocate to more affordable areas and commute in for work, are major reasons for this development; implications of this issue will be discussed further in the Workforce Housing section.…
The local government is very important. Citizens are more likely to interact with local government and be directly affected by policies. As the state becomes more urbanized and as the population grows and becomes more diverse, the demands on local government will increase. There are three areas of the Texas Local Government. Immigration Policy The United States more than any other country welcomes in its arms more immigrants and Texas, than any other state, lets in more foreign and domestic migrants. It’s almost half of all the newly arrived migrants residing in the mentioned state are born foreign. Amounting to over four million migrants, Texas has been considered as one of the top three states that has the most number of born foreign migrants living within its parameters. Texas immigration has been considered as both a consequence and a cause of fast state growth. The strength of the economy and business model (fewer regulations, low cost of labor and lower taxes) in Texas have enticed many workers and companies in the recent years.…

Stockton’s Little Manila Immigration has been a substantial part of American history. It was through the backs and hard work ethic emulated by immigrants that embody what we call the American dream of success and prosperity in life. It was through this dream that Filipino Americans sought to acquire and accomplish throughout their ongoing struggle within the years before and after World War II. The population of the United States as a whole is one that is vast and truly diverse.…

Texas has many challenges facing its future related to many issues, but I think that the most important is education. Education is a big challenge now facing texas which does not depend exactly from the school, or teachers, basically depend directly from students. Teenagers now don´t want to realize how their lifes are, and the amazing things they get from it, instead many of us are spoiled because they just don´t care about it. And, I think that the reason is because they maybe haven´t receive a good education throughout their life who encourage them with their studies, as when our parents were young. It´s not the same thing and motivation as the one they had.…
