But, tackling the issues of Medicaid will reduce the lack of access in healthcare. Surgeons are not only going to be available in the healthcare system, Medicaid patients will receive the same treatment as privately insured patients. SWOT analysis is useful to manage disease and help retain patients. I suggest, BMC’s surgical department continue using SWOT analysis while partnering with other organizations.
As discussed in the previous assignment, the issue that has been examined is major decreases in Medicaid reimbursement. This posed challenges in the way that Boston Medical Center (BMC) surgical department delivers efficient care, specifically dealing with patients’ needs. Applying the SWOT analysis tool is significant for BMC’s surgery department to reduce costs and provide quality care. The SWOT analysis concept consists of strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (Walston, 2014. p.182).
