I believe that superhero comics reflects social movements in a tremendous way. Because they both are for the hard working and honest citizen. Superhero comics and social movements were created to enforce laws that the government failed to do. There are so many groups that fight for peace, fight against world hunger, equality and fight against disease. Both superheroes and social movement fight for these things and most of the time they are victorious. Superheroes are use in politics so do social movements, presidential candidates tell social groups that if they win they will support their group. There are groups today in America that created to fight for peace and equality, for instance, look at the Black Lives Matter, that was created to bring equity for black men and women. In comics, you have Spiderman, Batman, Superman, fighting for the same things as the social movement groups today. Superhero comics give other people motivation and courage to create positive groups to help make positive changes in every person environment.
