Part One:
Introduction:
Civil Rights leader, Cesar Chavez, in his magazine article, addresses violence in society. Chavez’s purpose is to convey that violence is temporarily successful, however, it exploits people. He adopts an impassioned tone to convey his message that violence is never the answer.
Supporting Points in Chronological Order:
“If...we respond with nonviolence, we attract people’s support.” (Paragraph 3)
“Violence… is temporarily successful, it replaces one violent form of power with another just as violent. People suffer from violence.” (Paragraph 10)
“...violence exploit people...to ask them to give up their lives for a cause and then not produce for them afterwards, is the most vicious type of oppression.” …show more content…
Which is what the prompt in this case is asking. My partner’s claim strays somewhat from the prompt and doesn’t answer it at all. I answer the prompt by stating what values it has or if it does not contain a value at all.
Part Three:
Type of Argument:
This argument is a solution or policy type of argument because in synthesis essays you view both sides and offer a compromise which is a solution. For that reason, this is a solution type of argument.
Appropriate Outline:
For this essay, a Rogerian outline would best suit this type of argument because in this argument you have to offer a solution which is what a Rogerian outline does. In a Rogerian outline, you view both sides and have a compromise solution.

Schools with a set honor codes should maintain them and enforce them in order to ensure that academics remains a concern at the school and that students must earn their grade on their own. However, colleges and universities must suspend or expel students who plagiarize since they knew the consequences from high school.
Schools that have a honor code but do not maintain or do not have a honor code at all consider it as students working together or “improperly collaborated” as stated in Source B. This source also states that they do not have a honor code because students will not change their ways just because they signed a paper indicating that they would not plagiarize. School see no purpose in having an honor code because it will not change the way of the student since students consider it another rule that they must obey.
It’s true that if a student wants to plagiarize, an honor code will not change this. Just because a school or college has an honor code does not mean that this student will stop plagiarizing because of this code or rule that is being enforced.
Having the same ideas can sometimes be common, depending on the similarity, no punishment like being expelled should occur. Some students may have the same idea but not use it the same way or think of it in more
