Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank were, at one point, collectively know as Palestine. The right to own the land is being fought over by the Israeli Jews and the Palestinian Arabs, who are also known as the Muslims. After the Arab-Israeli War of 1947 was over, the land of Palestine was split into the three regions, Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. the Israeli Jews state that they have the right to the land because it was promised to them by God through the birth of Isaac, son of Abraham. The Palestinian Arabs, on the other hand, state that they are the rightful heirs to the land because the Arabs have lived in the region for the longest of the two groups. The Gaza Strip is a rectangular land mass on the Mediterranean coast in the middle of Israel and Egypt. The majority of the population there are Palestinian refugees, and many have lived in camps for years. In the Oslo peace accords in 1993, Gaza was given to the new Palestinian Authority, to created one part of an upcoming Palestinian state, plus the West Bank and potential land between them. The army-centered Hamas had control over Gaza at this time. Israeli settlers did not leave Gaza, however. In September 2005, Ariel Sharon, Israel’s prime minister then, made the Israeli people leave Gaza, making it the first land region put in Palestinian hands. Israel did keep order over the borders and kept conducting seizures. By June 2008, Hamas and Israel formed a truce, though it was never given definition. After their truce expired on Dec. 19, cannon fire quickly began to emerge, and Israeli air raids were not far behind. The number of deaths on the first day of air strikes were about 225; by Dec. 29, it rose to 300. On Jan. 3, a land raid of Gaza started, and by Jan. 8, the number of deaths were 660. The Republican Party is supportive of Israel during its conflict with Palestine increasingly more than Democratic Party is. Conservative Republicans push the party to be pro-Israel. Conservative Republicans also sympathized with Israel 77-percent to 4-percent margin, according to the PEW Research Center. 73 percent of Republicans say they support Israel, and 44 percent of Democrats believe the same. Source 3: Liberal Ideas On The Issues. N.p., 10 July 2004. Web. 21 Sept. 2015. . Democrats support Israel but want Palestine to be its own state. The Democrats are dedicated to the safety of our friend and the making of a complete, fair and long peace with Israel and the surrounding countries. The unique relationship the U.S has with Israel is because of the firm base of our similar values and dedication to democracy. The U.S. will make sure Israel keeps its national security. Also making sure Israel does not lose their right to self-defense. Democrats want the creation of a Palestinian state. They also believe that Israel and Palestine can be next to each other and remain peaceful, despite the Isaac/Ishmael conflict going back to the ancient Egyptian time period. This state should make refugees want to go to Palestine instead of settling in Israel. Every Democrat knows it is

He came to this decision when President Obama cleared up the concerns that Sanders had about the deal. According to Sanders, Republicans do not understand that war is a final resort, but Republicans believe in the safety of our ally Israel. Sanders believes that the Iran nuclear deal will not impact Israel, but in reality, Iran will turn around and will blow Israel off the map, and then they will use their nuclear weapons on the U.S. Israel is the United States’ ally and should be under U.S. military protection against any threat the nation may face, but instead, the U.S. is practically agreeing to annihilate Israel and the United States is going to aid in Israel’s destruction without knowing it. Bernie Sanders stands with Obama and Congress on this

This reading discusses the events leading up to the British Mandate as well as the after effects of its implementation. The Balfour Declaration announced British support of Zionism, provided that no injustice was done to the native Arab population. The Declaration became solidified in international law when the League of Nations wrote it into the British Mandate for Palestine. While Zionist saw this as a long-awaited charter and renewed hope after the brutal years of WWI, Arabs viewed it as “simple colonialism.” Although they disagreed on the methods, time after the Mandate allowed for Labor Zionists, General Zionists and Religious Zionists to work together under a common goal. Palestinian politics was stratified and was weakened by a…

This paper will review literature regarding the relationship between sex offenders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. It will also look into the background of sex offenders with these disabilities in particular and what characteristics make up this group of individuals. Possible treatments and interventions for sex offenders with intellectual and developmental disabilities will also be discussed. This topic is impertinent to research as to make sure sex offenders with intellectual disabilities get the proper help they need and are not overlooked by the justice system. I found this subject to be of interest to research after hearing about a case involving a sex offender who was unknowingly coerced into committing a rape crime by…

According to the textbook, it mentions how “autism spectrum disorder consists of deficits in social communication and social interaction and then presence of restrictive and repetitive behavioral patterns” (Chapter 12, pg. 439-440). The textbook also mentions how, “Autism spectrum disorder is a life-long impairment that affects the entire family; only about one third of all people with these disorder are ever able to live independently, however; deficits in the core areas do improve with age, and there are always exceptions to this generally bleak outlook” (Chapter 12, pg. 441). The article by Tynan, Somers, Gleason, Markman, & Yoon (2015) investigates the role of external influential factors on the risky behaviours and goal-oriented habits of adolescents in 9th and 12th grades. The authors identify the various factors that influence adolescents’ behaviours including biological, peers, family and political factors. One of the variables considered for the study include parental monitoring; according to the authors, when parents are less involved in monitoring and observing the adolescents, there is a resulting increase in risky behaviours such as smoking, sexual engagement, drug use, and criminal activities. Parental involvement, another key factor, in the adolescents’ homework and extracurricular activities does not only improve the performance of such a child, but also decrease aggressive and poor behaviours such as smoking and drinking. Parental communication which entails parents discussing moral and sexual topics with the children will influence the adolescent development.…

Since the mid-twentieth century, Jews have been migrating to the land of Israel, known by the Arabs as Palestine, to escape the discrimination and persecution they had been facing in Europe for centuries. The Zionist movement began to grow as a result of the Holocaust, as the Jews believe they have a right to their own Jewish state where their holy sites are. However, the Arabs have been living in Palestine for generations, and they are unwilling to accept the formation of a Jewish state because of the Palestinian cultural and ancestral ties that exist in that land. Because both the Palestinians and Jews are obdurate and will not forswear the land they both feel they have a right to, the Arab-Israeli conflict is an incredibly complicated issue.…
