This Monday our team interviewed Dave Anderson, MA, LPC, CAADA of sacred heart rehabilitation center in Flint Michigan. Dave was kind enough to field our interview from our team. Dave is a substance abuse outpatient therapist, he specializes in helping his clients obtain the basic necessity’s and information needed to be a success in their life and not have relapses. Dave has been an outpatient therapist for almost 12 years and was easily able to answer almost all of our questions regarding Sacred Heart. Dave took a deep breath and leaned back in his chair as he looked at us with a look and pause of a man who was about to tell a descriptive story. “Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center was founded in Detroit, MI in 1967. Initially, the center was a residential treatment for alcoholism, treating males based on the Alcohols Anonymous philosophy. Over time, Sacred Heart implemented other services such as medical detoxification, treatment for substance disorders beyond alcohol, outpatient therapy, mental health counseling, group therapy, recovery housing, etc.
Sacred heart also grew to cover a more diverse population, incorporating women, adolescents, and those with communicable diseases such as AIDS. Sacred Heart opened an outpatient service agency in Flint, MI 2004 and began recovery and wellness in 2010 and has been going strong
