Like every year, I expect the year to have its flaws. I know the school year isn't going to be perfect, and I know that not everything is going to go how I wish it would. Star Lu Mrs. Swarm Good Morning Bernardo Yorba Class of 2018! I can’t believe it has already been 2 years since we stepped foot onto the BYMS campus for the first time. It seems like only yesterday that we were seventh graders, trying to find our next class, fighting the locks on our P.E. lockers, and looking so clueless to the returning 8th graders. And now we are those 8th graders, the rulers of the school, who are now here, counting down the minutes before we are released to summer and the next step of life, high school.…

World’s Best Injera Waiting for school to end, five, four, three, two ,one, beeeeep, summer officially started. Temperatures reaching 80-90 degrees, people walking around with nearly nothing on, men with shorts and underwear and girls with bikinis. As I’m walking through the hallway I see mixed emotions, people who are crying, who don’t want to leave their friends then there’s people who just run out the door with excitement and don’t bother to look back to say goodbye. So shocked in everything from the first day, when people are finessing their new cloth and shoes, to finals, where people are stressing about their grades, “Do you think I can reach that A+ if I do some extra credit,” Students tend to ask, everything goes by so quickly. This summer my plan is to hit the weight room and work on my game so I can play varsity the following season.…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

Senioritis and Post-High School Plans As fourth quarter begins, students across the high school are realizing that the school year is beginning to draw to a close. The weather is slowly becoming more pleasant, end-of-the-year events are starting up, and the thought of summer is creeping into the back of many students’ minds again--especially seniors. As it does every year, Senioritis is starting to make an appearance in the graduating class. Senioritis occurs in many seniors when they realize that in a few short months, they will have graduated high school and finished four of the hardest (but best) years of their life so far.…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

Overview When coming into this school year I had high expectations of what it would be like, unfortunately school does not have instructions included. We all have this pre-written idea of what the seventh grade will be like, whether it's improving our social status or finally being in a relationship. When looking at these goals from afar we just think these are the cliche pubescent middle school goals; at least that's what I thought when I surveyed students in what they wanted before the school year ended. But when we look at these goals with an open mind they're actually trying to figure out your place in life or figuring out…
