Strengths - They are an enormous organisation with the biggest quick service market share in the world with eight percent of the total world sales having more than 34000 outlets that serves around 69 million customers every single day all over the world. - Their brand recognition is booming, being known as one of the most known brands in the quick service industry which is valued at $40 billion as of today. There are a lot of areas of
McDonalds that has helped to achieve this brand recognition such as the very famous Ronald McDonalds clown which is also their mascot and their tagline of “Im Lovin it”.
- Ability to adapt to different environment and situations so as to be able to attract the local market of their outlets overseas.
An example would be in India where they have taken into consideration of the target market’s dietary preference and religious beliefs. Statistics of India have shown that around 80 percent of the country are Hindus therefore they are not allowed to eat beef thus McDonald’s have ensured that they provided other options of meat and even vegetables based dishes for the vegetarians that makes up about 31 percent of the total population. Some of the dishes that known to be available in India would be the McAloo, McVeggie and Chicken Maharaja. - Some other strengths would be that they are a 24 hour fast food restaurant that provides both online and home delivery. These are some of the strengths that McDonalds has. Weakness - Negative publicity they receive about the quality of the food and the food being offered in their restaurants. To begin with, the food being served in their restaurants are considered to be unhealthy to the public since most of the items on their menu are deep fried such as their fries and nuggets as well as the use of soft drinks such as Coke. Due to this, the general public feels that they are promoting obesity with the food choices in their menu thus causing them to drop in popularity. - Controversies about the ingredients used in their meals. One example would be where there are some reports which says that the restaurant does not use ‘real’ meat which was promised from them to be 100 percent beef patty but instead uses some kind of pink slime that are made up

With this, it could be a huge chance for their brand to further increase their revenues with the fast-paced society and changing eating habits in the country.

- An opportunity that they could have through their weaknesses of being considered unhealthy would be to come up with ideas that would proof them otherwise especially in a society which is growing to be more health conscious. One way they could use this opportunity would be to come up with food items on their menu that uses a healthier way of cooking and fresh ingredients or even come up with healthier choices meal.
Threats - Intense competition against other quick service restaurants which is rapidly increasing over the years. Some competitors would be Burger King, Wendy’s and Carls Jr. These competitors are slowly catching up to McDonald in terms of the food served and the price range. To add on, they are all targeting the same group of people. Therefore, if McDonalds does not think of a way to improve in their products
