Walgreens has recently launched a corporate university program that serves and encourages employee learning. Senior vice president and chief human resources officer had this to say about why Walgreens decided to launch such a program, “We wanted to create an innovative and agile talent pool, one that’s diverse and fosters a powerful cross section of thoughts and ideas. From our leaders in our community centers to our store managers, learning and growing every day is essential to delivering our business strategy”. The biggest strengths consist of exceptional customer service, use of technological advances and employee satisfactory and performance. Walgreens focuses primarily on customer responsiveness to create high customer satisfaction. Creating convenience, and a healthy environment for its customers, is a huge part of Walgreens cultural values. Usage of technological advances gives Walgreens a huge competitive advantage as these technologies are creating faster production and flow of information through its distribution centers, safer working environments, and higher customer satisfaction through new innovations on-site.
