There is a half-filled glass of water with optimist being half filled at the bottom. One side is for 2004, starting from the bottom with 79% optimist, going to the middle with 2% it depends, and to the top with 15% pessimist. The 2013 side starts from the bottom with optimist 50%, 43% somewhere in between, and 4% pessimist. Optimistic is being hopeful and confident about the future and pessimist is tending to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen. More people were more confused in 2013 than 2004. There are always more people that are an optimist than a pessimist, which is very good, but as time and the years have changed, more people are not as happy as they were in 2004. For a person to be a pessimist, I believe that they are not as happy as an optimist
