The first step I did was to analysis and assessment where environment is located and how it develops in healthcare. Then after I read though the budget I started a planning strategy formulation that I feel would fit my community. This was the most important step because I had to figure out what my community’s needs are and how to make sure I stay within my budget. I also found this step to be the hardest because I had to omit a lot of topics for my community because they just did not fit into the budget. Once I was able to achieve that I started my strategy execution plan in what I see fit for my community. What influenced my decisions was what would improve the quality of life in my community. I went through each topic and organized what I thought my community would need to improve health. Some of these topics were great but they were not needed or they were not cost effective for my community. I choose plumbing, water purification at the top of my list because this alone can help to prevent a lot of diseases from unclean water. Hospitals, vaccines and antibiotics is needed because my community will have the resources it needs to improve the quality of life. I really wanted to incorporate irrigation system but it was not a cost effective strategy for my planning but that is why I picked the seeds option because this would allow farmers to grow food for the community. Strategic plans are based on the organization’s actions, for example, capital investments, new service lines, or recruitment of specialty physicians, with an aim to achieve mission driven goals, such as cost reduction, safety and quality improvement, and decreased mortality. Furthermore, the operational and financial implications for the upcoming fiscal year as well as a projection of opportunities and threats for the upcoming 3-5 years should be incorporated into strategic plans (Joshi, Ransom, Nash, & Ransom, 2014). They are long term plans that can reach out to five years into the future. Strategic planning can be broken up into two parts which are developing the strategy and putting that strategy into action and to do this steps need to be put into place (Barnat, n.d.).
