When people interpret the word hate, they’ll tell themselves that it's not liking someone. It's just a phase, people will hug it out and everything will be okay, right? Well, that is wrong. The real world isn't a school playground, and in reality, hate can lead to violence and affect people's lives in dramatic ways. Well, its Hate Crimes like vandalism. In February of 2016, three vandals spray-painted racial slurs on a Muslim House of Worship (“King”). There was also a cross burning in front of the home of a black family four years ago in Johnson County. The Indiana law saw the perpetrators as nothing more than that, vandals. This is an example of a hate crime, and its thoughtful that there's someone out there with a very good brain and conscious to combat against it. State Sen. Greg Taylor has tried to push for a hate crime legislation in Indiana (“King”).
