Steve Jobs was an entrepreneur, inventor, marketer and one of the group that founded Apple Computer Inc , among Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Jobs was the chairman of Apple Inc and chief executive of Pixar Animation until his death in 2011.
Steve Jobs biological parents put him up for adoption at birth and was adopted by Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs. Steve’s parents moved to California when he was 5, where he befriended a computer whiz named Steve Wozniak. After graduating high school in 1972 Steve attended Reed college in Portland, Oregon. Jobs took a job as a technician for Atari in 1973. In 1974 Jobs went to India in search of spiritual enlightenment at Neem Karoli Baba. He adopted Indian beliefs by shaving his head and wearing the traditional Indian clothing. Steve then began practicing Zen Buddhism and maintained that practice until his death. Steve later tried the drug LSD and described it as "one of the two or three most important things he had done in his life". Steve Ronald Wayne and Wozniak founded a business named Apple Computer Company because of a happy summer where Steve jobs picked apples. They began selling circuit boards. Ronald Wayne left shortly after the conception of the company. Steve was later fired from Apple and said “the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” In 1985 he founded Next with 7 million dollars, but began failing and seeked help from billionaire Ross Perot who invested in the company. He had a rare form of Pancreatic cancer, the only kind that was treatable and curable. Jobs never wanted to take any medicine and instead put all of his faith in his diet and food he consumed. Jobs rejected surgery and instead used herbal medicines, acupuncture and even tried to receive help from a psychic. After all his attempts at improvising for modern medicine, he underwent surgery in 2004. In 2006 Steve gave the keynote for the World Wide Developers Conference and appeared very slim and unhealthy. Steve’s condition began to appear worse and he revealed in an apple memo that his condition was more complex than he originally thought. Jobs continued to work for Apple even six weeks prior to his death. Steve died at his home on October 5th, 2011 in Palo Alto, CA due to hardships with his relapse from his treatment for pancreatic cancer and died from respiratory arrest. After his death headquarters from companies like Microsoft and Apple lowered their flags half staff to commemorate the death of Steve Jobs and on the Apple web page there was a grayscale portrait with his lifespan next to it. If the portrait was clicked on it lead to an obituary, that read “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.
