STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
No person in this world born with particular desire to do something extraordinary. However, soon after his thought process is maturing, he just inclined over something spontaneously. I am also on the same trend hence, my thought process was quite dissipated till I get admitted department of pharmaceutical science at the University of Dhaka, best institution of Bangladesh. During my undergraduate studies, I gained the comprehensive understanding of chemical processes inside the biological system; to relate where, why and how it operates, molecular etiology of various diseases and mechanism of drug actions. Unfortunately the doctoral degree in biological chemistry in my country is very limited because of the lack of adequate academic and research facility. Department of Chemistry at Tulane University offers Ph.D. degree under the supervision of supremely trained, experienced and internationally recognized professors with state-of-the-art research facility. Personally, I want to do research on the understanding of disease states from molecular level to the whole organisms so that it is possible to design most potent and safest therapeutic interventions. I feel that studying a PhD in the department of Chemistry at Tulane University will open windows for me to decipher the unresolved human disease on the viewpoint of biochemical and medicinal explanation. Here I expect to find the comprehensive research in biochemistry around the themes of biochemical, molecular and bioorganic chemistry techniques. Working in a large organizational environment teaches me to work in a group and adapt any kind of situation which can help me to perform my duty as a group member in the research lab. My leadership and innovative quality are fully implemented here which can help me to be an active member in the lab and generate innovative idea into practice in my research. However, as I am always inclined to independent research, I figured out that teaching is the most suitable profession for me. Consequently, I joined Southeast University (SEU) as a lecturer. Due to my enthusiasm and interest in research work, I was appointed as Chief Administrator of Organic Pharmacy laboratory and Co-Administrator of Animal house of SEU which helps me to learn how a research laboratory is set up and maintained. I found that the research facility is very limited to perform sophisticated research work here and we as teachers need to be trained further to give student up-to-date knowledge. That also buttresses my motivation to achieve a doctoral degree. Currently, I am supervising 3 undergraduate project students, which helps me to understand already garnered knowledge with further
