The program presented seeks to provide training to staff members on the use of reinforcers to enable them to correctly reinforce desired behaviors and to provide an understanding so that consistency between staff members will be met. The inputs to the program include the staff of Stars. They will be categorized based on their strengths and weaknesses. The reason for doing this is to identify areas of strength as well as concern. This can be done through direct assessment and observation over the course of several days. By doing so, it also provides a baseline to compare to later in the program. Throughputs include what services we are going to provide in order to carry out the program. In the case of Stars, ABC will provide training concerning the use and value of reinforcers when working with behaviors. Additionally, training will be provided to employees who are falling below the average for reinforcer use in the way of behavior skills training provided by supervisory staff of Stars. The services will be provided at the Stars facility, during the employee's normal working hours. The training provided will provide an outcome of staff members who are proficient in completion of their jobs, while reinforcing the client for desired behaviors. BST has proven to be an effective evidence based program (Miltenberger, 2012). As seen in the article "The Effects of Behavioral Skills Training on …show more content…
It is primarily a management tool. In order to monitor the program, data will be taken daily on those who have participated in the individual training programs utilizing a data sheet. Supervisors will observe sessions one time per day, and record any missed opportunities for reinforcement along with incorrect reinforcement in the way of reinforcement delay, or reinforcement of undesired behavior. This will be compared to baseline weekly in the form of a graph. Graphing allows for a visual which is more easily viewed and understood than when trying to compare pages of documentation. Data will further be collected on frequency of undesired behaviors of the clients. Data will be taken prior to training on staff knowledge and level of reinforcement as well as after training to determine if the training had an impact as well as to identify potential problems. At program start the clients were seeing an increase in behaviors due to the inconsistent level of reinforcement. By collecting data on frequency of undesired behavior and comparing it to baseline, we will show the relation and the impact of the program on the client. Finally, attendance records will be kept for all training to track service hours provided. This will provide performance documentation to the stakeholders so they might do a cost analysis to ensure the program is something
