Response To The Movie: The Bling Ring

We know that fame and money, take people to a whole other level. There are individuals capable of doing anything just to be like their idol. During Spring Break I watched the movie “The Bling Ring”. This movie tells the story of a couple of high school teenagers, whom all had a good economical status, but were not happy with all they had and went on styling until they started robbing the houses of many famous celebrities like Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox , Lindsay Lohan etc... They go on burgling houses over and over, until they get caught. This movie is an adaptation of a real event known as the Hollywood Burglars this happened during the years 2008-2009. This is what many people speculate about the new American Dream: It is acquiring excessive material wealth like famous people do. Owning a small house with a picket fence is no longer the dream. Instead, many people want to own the most expensive cars, a mansion, the most stylish clothes, the last upcoming technology and the list could go on. A good healthy democratic government is that, government that can offer a well established institutional structure in which they respect the liberty and equality of their citizens through a rightful and acceptable implementation of its mechanisms. In other words a good democracy is one that can completely satisfy citizens in a good quality. Also the citizens themselves have the power to check and test if the government is acting according to the law. In a good healthy democratic government, citizens are able monitor the good organization and efficacy of the decisions made by the office, (people chosen to lead). In my opinion the American Dream is compatible with the political culture needed to sustain a healthy democratic system, because if the society is happy with what is going on, they are going to be good citizens, and in case it’s not compatible we would see
