Looking through the websites I could see how much sports are dominated by men. As a matter of fact the only picture I seen on ESPN’s website of a woman was about the 50th anniversary of Kathrine Switzer becoming the first women to officially run the Boston Marathon. This would seem like some type of move forward if they did not already make a special about this happening a couple of years ago. It seems like a way to bring back attention to the special that they already did. It does show their effort to bring attention to the lack of women participation on sports though. While looking on Sports Illustrated I saw that there were more articles about women. The first being just a picture of Lexi Thompson, a professional golfer because of the incident when she miss marked her ball and it was called in by a viewer and reviewed. The second one surprised me a first because it was about the WNBA draft because I have never seen an article about it, but it was just portraits of the women. Lastly there were two Sports Illustrated swimsuit model articles. This showed exactly what society thinks of women’s sports, which is basically just that sex sells and this arena is for men and just for women to look good and stand aside. Both of the articles seem to show the world this view point. They both failed to hit on any women’s sports that could be going on right now, but they have written about the NFL draft several times and the NFL season is not even close and they have also talked a lot about the NBA’s upcoming draft class for the next season, while the current season is still going on. I could truly tell what they felt was the most important things going on in sports right now or in the
