It’s in place more these days to make criminals stop and ponder if their lives are worth ending just to take the life of another, even if regular prison time is meant to do the same. But the concept is not as flawless as simply processing criminals and placing the capital offenders on death row ready for the lethal injection, it’s much more complex. No one should rightfully be advocates of death but when that said person for instance was involved in a school shooting and was arrested and placed on death row for taking the lives of say ten young adults should they really be allowed to live out their days in prison or should they be given the lethal injection for their crimes. Although it is understandable if the person on death row was for example convicted of say murdering their spouse and there was no solid evidence of that person committing the crime but they still get put on the waiting list to be executed, only to later after the execution find the missing evidence that cleared their name, that is understandable. But in that rare occurrence it is the justice system at fault. These scarce cases pile up and cause the death sentence in that state or country to be removed letting other criminals who deserve death live out their lives maybe to even
