When it comes to the NFL teams and players having an issue dealing with the media, the falcons are probably the only team that hasn't had an issue in a while. Their last issue the organization had to deal with was their former Quarter back Michael Vick and his dog fighting situation (Kurland A.). This happened back in 2007 when Virginia police raided Vicks home and they found 60 to 70 pit bull dogs and equipment used for dog fighting, including treadmills, veterinary medicines, pry bars that was used to break up fights, and a rape stand that was mainly used to keep females locked in place during forced breeding. Vicks involvement of the dog fighting allegations made daily news and this created top subject for those in the media that showed animal crustily. What made matters worse for his situation was the killing and execution of dogs with horrible performance (Grano, D. …show more content…
Just like Vicks incident the League itself had to come in and take control of the situation to help please the public on Vick’s problems and other issues just like his. When issues like this happens this causes the League to make new rules to players that are in the league for further protection of all organizations in the League. The number 1 rule was the control over social media. Basically, whatever you say, or put on social media that is presented as being negative, than the NFL will fine the player for it. The reason why? Since the creation of social media every player coach and staff member has created a account for a way to communicate and stay in contact with family, friends, and fans of them, but now with celebrity statues, everyone can view what you say on their and take it as positive or negative depending on what you are saying (ARTHUR,

Introduction New Orleans, Louisiana was awarded its first National Football League franchise on November 1, 1966. The franchise became the 16th team in the National Football League and was named the Saints due to the fact that the birthday of the franchise falls on the Roman Catholic Church’s All Saints Day; widely appropriate considering New Orleans is predominately a Catholic city. The city of New Orleans and its beloved franchise has had to deal with some of the most adverse situations imaginable. For example, on August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans and caused widespread damage to the Saints home stadium, the Louisiana Superdome. That year the Saints went just 3-13 however, bounced back in 2006 with a trip…

Not much has changed as last year the Dallas Cowboys were prohibited from wearing a patch on their jerseys in support of police officers killed in the line of duty. However, protests against the very symbol of the American nation – no problem. The NFL has the attitude that they are like some Wall Street bank that can’t fail and they ignore – at their own peril – the political axiom that you never insult your base supporters. If you’re a fan and disgusted with what is transpiring with the players and the NFL’s reaction to it, perhaps you need to close your wallet. Cut the cable, burn the tickets and stop buying all the endless merchandise – especially those oversized jerseys.…

When a problem arises, people tend to look at others to assign blame when (more often than not) their finger should be pointing right back in the mirror. The NFL should not be given sole blame for the concussions players suffer while playing football; they are simply the easiest to target. When it is all broken down, the NFL would not even exist if it were not for every person who has ever bought a ticket, tuned into a game on the television or any form of device, or even bought merchandise. The fans are the water that keep the NFL afloat. During the Super Bowl 50, the peak average of viewers was 115.5 million, and that is just taking in to account the in-home televisions.…

Rules have been established in the NFL and carried over to lower levels in the past few years. For example, it is illegal for targeting a defenseless player. Also, there was a new rule change that came into effect this past year dealing with kickoffs. It was shown that most concussions occurred on this specific play. This rule, which moved the ball up to the 35-yard line, increased the likelihood of a touchback and rewarded the player 5 extra yards if they decided to take a knee instead of returning the kick into a hell zone of vicious hits (Associate Press).…
