Social Media Issues In America

I primarily chose this topic because this is a major issue that America is facing right now. I wanted to have more knowledge on the issue and to have more of an understanding to who is at fault. Also, I believe that this is a touchy subject in the media currently and needs more attention in solving the issue. I am passionate about ending the violence that is occurring. Before I started my research, I had some prior knowledge on the issue. I heard a lot about the issue on social media. I think that social media can be very useful in getting information out, especially to the younger generation. I also believe that blasting the issue on social media can be very harmful. One major way I believe we can fix the issue is to not overreact and stay calm when stopped or questioned by a police officer. A police officer goes into every situation to protect themselves.These police officers do not know what the outcome of the stop may be. I think it would be helpful to have the officers wear a camera when on duty so that if anything bad may happen we can use the footage to have a better understanding of what happened. The footage that is taken should be used in court to back up the stories of the people involved. Also, I think it would be best if the officer record a statement right after the incident. If I were in a position to solve the problem I would do multiple different things. I would make the requirements to become a police officer much more difficult. I am aware that police officers have a lot of responsibilities on their plate. If an officer is going to handle a weapon, I believe the officer needs training on how to operate the weapon under pressure. Also, I would make it a requirement that the officer has to take a mental evaluation test to see if they are mentally stable enough to handle a
