One of the transformations by urbanization process has impact on the population due to aggravation of the social disparities. In fact, this situation existed since the early civilizations in the Ancient Mesopotamia. However, due to the urbanization process, the recent observations in presents a new character and the urban studies have showed an emerging type of social inequality in the cities which it will be discussed in the following pages. Thus, the main topic of the research is the concern induced by the global dynamics, started from the1990 to the present time, which is related to the current pattern of social segregation in the cities. Regarding the recent academic research in human geography field, it seems possible to associate this social segregation with the ‘gentrification’. …show more content…
In fact, hence that the difference between the social disparities in the Ancient Ages. The trend of the social inequality on the firsts civilizations was leaded by a statics social disparities as a result of the caste systems. Differently, the urbanization process has impact on the society by a sociodemographic modification of the population district and this the definition attributed to the gentrification, a dynamic process of social inequality modification in the urban structure of the cities. This study analyzes the process of the traditional population displacement due to an urban revitalization in the area which causes this dynamic of social segregation. Therefore. debate of the sociodemographic modifications suggests the globalization phenomenon as the catalyst agent during the latest urbanization process in the context of the transition since the lasts decades of XXth century, as it is shown in the next diagram. Thus, a new pattern of inequality in cities is suggested to be caused by globalization dynamically acting on post-industrial cities such as the gentrification. It is a widely held the opinion that one of the main challenges of this century is to clarify the origin and identify the agents of this sociodemographic modification which negatively impact on the urban population with the purpose to avoid the recent social segregation. In this research, the approach of the topic will examine the impacts of globalization phenomenon in order to determine the relation with the gentrification issue by identifying the “global dynamics” , the global impacts in cities due to transformations within the urbanization context process. Thus, the main purpose of the research is to determine whether the global patterns leads to gentrification process. The study approaches this issue by developing a theoretical framework of the globalization phenomena on the academic discussion. Therefore, it will be explained the versatility of the concept and the impacts of the phenomena in the cities. The gentrification will be studied from an empirical research based on the cities of Barcelona and Adelaide, after argue the relation between globalization and gentrification. This cross-sectional study of the CBD (Adelaide) and Ciutat Vella (Barcelona) areas aim to identify the social segregation noticed in this urban areas since 1991 to 2015. Reliability of the methodology is due to the information based on the urban policies, the official datasets and the census of the cities and conducted by the statistics which will be presented in graphics and maps. Thus, the research displays a hypothetic-deductive method focused on the status quo of the globalization in the urban areas by the gentrification process. The hypothesis of the study maintains that the global dynamics are the driving force of the gentrification process in the urban areas which is displayed by two main symptoms. The first symptom is the displacement of the traditional population and, therefore, the second symptom is the urban revalorization of the land value. Theoretical framework is introduced in the first part of the study and might situate the background
